Materials Needed:
    Tape measure
    1/2 yard fleece fabric
    Scissors
    Needle and thread
Buttons, appliqués, or felt pieces for decoration
    1 yard decorative cord
    Small Girl Power Flower template

1. First, determine the size of the hat. (To avoid ruining the surprise, measure the head of someone
who is similar in size to the recipient.) Now cut a piece of fleece that's 16 inches tall and as long as
the measurement you took plus 2 inches.

2. Fold the fleece in half, right side in so the 16-inch edges match up. Sew a 1/2-inch-wide seam
along this edge, stopping 5 inches from the bottom (to allow for roll). Just below the last stitch, make
a 1/2-inch cut in from the side. Turn the material right side out. Now sew a seam along the last 5
inches of unsewn fleece.

3. Roll the bottom of the hat up two turns, so the cuff conceals the bottom part of the seam. To keep
the cuff from unrolling, sew on a felt cutout of the Girl Power Flower with decorative button.

4. Finally, gather the top 3 inches of the hat and tie a colorful cord around it.

5. Optional: You can also cut the material on the top for "fringe"

FOR THE SCARF:  Just cut a long strip of material, fringe the edges, and add on a Girl Power flower!

    Heavy paper
    Glue and glitter
    Ribbon
    Small photos
    Cord
    Girl Power large flower template

Time needed: Under 1 Hour
1. For each frame, cut two identical paper flowers. Cut a circle out of the
center of one flower from each pair (this will be the front of the frame).
Decorate the flowers with glue and glitter, if desired.

2. Cut a piece of ribbon long enough to accommodate the number of
frames you've made; fold over one end about 1 inch and staple to make a
hanging loop. Staple the back of each frame to the ribbon, spacing the
frames evenly.

3. Cut photos to a size slightly smaller than the flowers. Sandwich a photo
between the front and back of each frame and glue in place. Thread a
piece of cord through the loop at the top, and hang.
**Mounted on a ribbon, the frames look good hung on a doorknob, a
bedpost or a Christmas tree branch.
